Rosuvastatin is a cholesterol-lowering medication, which is available in the doses of 5mg, 10mg, 20mg and 40mg. This medicine works by blocking the production of cholesterol in the body. Reducing cholesterol helps prevent heart attacks and strokes. Rosuvastatin reduces bad cholesterol levels (low-density lipoprotein, LDL), but increases good cholesterol levels (high-density lipoprotein, HDL). This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
