Cinacalcet

Cinacalcet is used to treat secondary hyperparathyroidism in dialysis patients with chronic kidney disease. It is also used to treat hypercalcemia (high levels of calcium in the blood) in patients with parathyroid cancer. This medicine belongs to a class of medications called calcimimetics. It works by causing the body to produce less parathyroid hormone, which helps lower calcium levels in the blood. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
