Clozapine

Clozapine is an antipsychotic medication used to treat psychotic disorders such as severe schizophrenia. This drug is prescribed to people who have not responded to other antipsychotic medications. Clozapine is also used to reduce the risk of recurrent suicidal behavior in people with schizophrenia. This medicine belongs to a class of drugs known as atypical antipsychotics. It works by changing the actions of certain natural substances (neurotransmitters) in the brain. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
