Neostigmine

Neostigmine is indicated to treat the symptoms of myasthenia gravis (a muscle weakness disorder). Neostigmine belongs to a group of medicines called anticholinesterases. Neostigmine works by prolonging the action of acetylcholine (a natural substance) in the body and this improves the strength of muscles in patients with myasthenia gravis. Neostigmine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
