Metolazone

Metolazone is a water pill used to reduce the fluid retention (edema) and swelling caused by conditions such as congestive heart failure or kidney disease. This drug removes excess fluid in the body by increasing the production of urine. Metolazone is also used alone or along with other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure levels reduces the risk of kidney problems, strokes and heart attacks. Metolazone belongs to a class of medications called diuretics. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
